Idea #6: Gift for YOURSELF??

Sorry I have been busy lately with exams, I will add entries more often after a week!

Here is something maybe most of us never really think about during Christmas...  how about spoiling ourselves a little???

Yes Christmas is the time of giving, but what's wrong with giving yourself something nice too?

Over the past years the number of gifts given to me has steadily decreased =( ... maybe this is due to friends moving out of time, me not really asking for anything, etc.  Maybe this time around I should get myself something nice to lighten up the mood.

I usually tend to separate my "wants" from my "needs", and this time, I will focus on my "needs".  One thing comes to mind right away right now; I just started steadily working out, and I think I need some weights, particularly dumbbells.  For the past two years I've been trying to shed a few pounds slowly, and now I feel like maybe I am going in the wrong direction.  Maybe I should gain some muscle and feel more like a man =P.

Since in the next few months I am going to be very busy, I probably won't have time to go to the gym to work out, so I am thinking maybe if I get myself some equipment, it will allow me to work out conveniently from my home.  I think I am going to get myself a set of dumbbells !
Dumbbells are a need (for me), not a want.  Maybe you need a set too!
(Not necessarily these ones shown)

For all you guys out there, maybe you need to build some muscle too!  Or maybe you already have some, or maybe you are happy the way you are.  Either way, these can be a good gift for anyone, and for yourself.  They do not expire, get old, and you can always just keep them for the future in case you do need them.

So what should I buy today?  Dumbbells.

Thanks for reading!

i'd recommend buying silver, then again its kinda expensive now. so i dont know. buy whatever. i bought my silver a few months ago, it was substantially cheaper.

don't get those things, though. Overpriced badly. Go to a Play It Again Sports and get a nice set of used screw lock dumbbells. Cheap, safe, and infinitely reconfigurable. And a bare bones bench. Less than $100 total, and you can upgrade with ease.

ya those dumbells look heavy duty and the pretty factor probably does make the price ridiculous

The Bowflex Dumbbells are a good choice for you if you don't really work out often. They are small and easily store and are adjustable. Personally they are too light for me, but I've found they made a great gift for my younger brother.

those dumbells look way too complicated. i miss the days of triangular weights and squat thrusts.

The cool thing is that they are adjustable but if you have been training for long its a pretty light weight, but enough to keep fit

I already have a weight set =)

I'm looking to get a treadmill soon though.

I barely use my weights anymore. Working out anyways, I use them a lot to hold the door open.

No need for dumbbells since I go to the gym on a regular basis. Yet, it sure is a good idea to have some at home.

Don't want to carry that gift around, I buy light gifts.

I got a really cheap set of 40 lb. dumbbells from Walmart for $15. I don't use them too often but enough that I justified the purchase.

I think I might try to get myself a more practical gift. Something to help kick the new year off.

I have dumbbells and weight straps for arms and legs whenever I am up to it. I don't use them as a set work out time period, but instead whenever I am waiting for something or need something to do with my hands, I grab a dumbbell and lift.

I use bands cause they so small and cheap
