So.... New Computer?

It's been a while since my last post.

So one thing I decided to get lately was a computer.
... I suppose it's more than one thing since I got multiple parts to build a computer, but you get the idea.

It was basically a budget computer, so nothing really too impressive spec wise.  If you are in the need of a new computer but are on a tight budget, this might give you a good idea of things to get.

I stuck with an AMD processor since they are cheaper than Intel processors, haven't had any problems with AMD personally so I'll go with the cheaper option for a budget computer.
The rest of the parts were pretty standard... graphics card, DVD writer, RAM, power supply, motherboard, and of course a computer case.

So this was my final build:

AMD Phenom ii X4 810
MSI 870-G45 Motherboard
Radeon 5450 (yeah I know this sucks but this computer's not meant for gaming)
4 GB DDR3 RAM
DVD Writer
Mid tower with 400W power supply

Altogether it cost only $337 CAD after taxes and rebates.  Not Bad.

Valentine's Day is Coming Up

Hey Readers,

It's either good news or bad news at this time of the year, and if you're like me, it's time to figure out the perfect gift to buy your loved one.

Personally, I don't think buying roses is that good of an idea (I guess it depends on the girl), so here's an idea you might want to consider:

Ok maybe you don't need to buy that many.

Just buy some origami paper, learn how to make origami roses, and make a bunch of them. Make it look all nice and fancy and you've made a pretty impressive Valentine's gift!

Learn to make these and make a few of them.

Sure this will take a bit more time probably, but I think it will all work out for the best!  I guess I am making it sound easier than it is, but it's worth a try =). It's neat, relatively inexpensive, and shows a lot of effort (just make sure the recipient knows you didn't just buy the origami roses).

This is just one idea of many possible great ideas.  Perhaps you already have something masterfully planned!  Feel free to share in the comments =P.

Time For Some Cleaning!

Looking around my room, one thing is certain, I need to clean up.

Some things are simple to fix, like putting away stuff, rearranging things to make my room look nice, but there is one thing that I can think of that I definitely need...

Dusters!

There is dust on pretty much every surface in my room... not just a tiny bit, but quite a visible amount.  I think it's time to wipe everything clean.  Personally I like using these Swiffer ones because the dust really does stick to the dusters quite efficiently.  Makes dusting simple and tidy.  I don't know about you, but maybe it's time you do a little bit of clean up too, who knows?  It's not as hard as it sounds I suppose, I think it'll only take me a couple of minutes.  Such a short time and effort can make a pretty big difference!

Something to Sooth My Pains...

Hey Everyone,

I don't know about you guys, but I have a tendency to get a LOT of canker sores... it seems that whenever there's a slight cut inside my mouth, it turns into a gigantic canker sore.  I'm not sure if it is genetic or anything, but I seem to get it worse than everyone I know =(.

That being said, I've been in pain the past few days, especially when eating.  Ever had the experience when you're looking forward to eating good food, only to have the moment ruined by some sharp pain in your mouth the whole time you're eating?  I'm very familiar with that feeling...

So this is what I bought today:

I find this very helpful.

This really does help ease the pain for me.  Considering how often I get them, I realized it was time for me to finally get something that helps me.  Maybe you have a similar issue as me and need to get something like this too!  Something to think about =).

Do You Feel Like Buying Anything Anymore?

Hey Everyone,

My apologies for the absence of new posts lately, holiday festivities has kept me away from the computer.
Now that the holidays are pretty much gone... I am sure many of you are looking at your credit card bills and distraught over it! (Like me).  I keep telling myself... NO MORE SPENDING!!... well in reality that is a bit tough. 

Well anyway, what do I feel like buying today?  A new jacket.
Why?  Because personally I only have like... 1 jacket, and where I live it has suddenly became more cold over the past few days.  I guess this is more of a need than want.

I guess I want something that looks like this!

My other jacket (yes I only have one other...) is a really huge poofy jacket... so I want something that is more tight to my skin... and looks better!  Maybe I won't get it today, or this week, but a jacket will be the next thing I'll get for myself!  

Maybe you are in need for a new jacket too, something good to think about.

I don't think it is appropriate to post something to buy today, but hope that everyone has a great day today, opening gifts, spending time with family and friends, and eating a nice dinner =).

Idea #8: Gift For Your Boyfriend?

Since I made a post about a gift for girlfriend, I think it's appropriate to post one for boyfriends.
As for me, I can't really think of anything I want from my girlfriend really.  So in that sense I give her a really hard time about this =P.  Usually I try to think of things I need, and to be honest, I am pretty much satisfied in all that I have.

As I thought harder though, maybe there are some subtle things that I would like, such as a new chair for my desk.  My current one is very uncomfortable and my arm rests especially are terrible.  They are actually scraping my elbows and causing a few bumps now and then. 

I find that finding the right chair is very difficult... it has to feel comfortable most importantly, and it also has to feel durable and must be adjustable.  Everyone has different preferences in what kind of chair they feel is comfortable.  I kind of like a chair with a high back, with adjustable height and PADDED arm rests. 

Now I will love something like this from my girlfriend!  (Or just having this kind of chair I guess)

I don't know what kind of things you all need, but maybe your own comfort when using your computer is overlooked!  For all of you who still need to get something for your boyfriends... who knows, maybe ask him about it =P.  They're not all that expensive if you find the right ones!  Maybe you never have any issues thinking of idea of what to buy, but who knows, someday we all encounter this problem of not knowing that gifts to buy for a certain someone.
